Launched on Martin King's birthday, ASPIRE is a pioneering pilot leadership development programme aimed at changing the face of the city's boardrooms for good. With only 8% of Trustees being people of Colour (PoC), the big dream for ASPIRE is to co-create with 8 aspiring leaders of colour and 4 leading VCSE organisations to address this chronic underrepresentation in the Boardrooms of Bristol. As part of this, earlier in the week we hosted two webinars which saw a great turn-out from both aspiring Trustees of colour looking to break thought the glass ceiling, and VCSE organisations keen to embrace the full power of inclusive governance. At these webinars, we were delighted to be joined by our funders, The National Lottery, and inspirational speakers Roger Griffith MBE, Arts Council Trustee and Domini Harewood a UWE Governor who shared their thoughts on why ASPIRE and Boardroom matters. With a package of support that is valued at over £15,000 for organisations and £10,000 for aspiring Trustees, thanks to funding from the National Lottery, participation in ASPIRE is 100% free. Demand to participate in ASPIRE will be high. So, with the application deadlines fast approaching do apply today by clicking on the relevant button below.
