Disability Awareness Day (“DAD”) is the world’s largest ‘not for profit’ voluntary-led disability exhibition, held annually in a huge tented village within the grounds of Walton Hall Gardens in Warrington. This year is their 31st disability exhibit - taking place on Sunday 17th July.

Disability Awareness Day is a pan disability event which promotes a can do culture focusing on what disabled people can do throughout life and work.

Over hundred years ago on July 18th 1918 Rolihlahla (Nelson) Mandela was born. This Monday we hope you'll join in celebrating the birth of this incredible and inspiring man who dedicated his life to fighting oppression and injustice in South Africa and lived to be elected as country's first President and first black head of state.

I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. South Asian Heritage Month runs from 18th July to 17th August every year, but 2022 marks the first year that events will be held in-real-life! "For the first time for South Asian Heritage Month, we are overjoyed that we can finally have in-real-life events taking place across the country. The national awareness month promotes British South Asian heritage and history through education, arts, culture and commemoration, with the goal of helping people to better understand the diversity of present-day Britain.
